In Photos: Historic Union Station, Washington DC

In All Topics, Featured, Travel Photography, United States by Ryan6 Comments

Lately I have been raving about the new purchase of my first ever DSLR camera. My just received Canon Rebel T4i and we had our first date with a stroll around Union Station.

Union Station has always been a symbol of my transient lifestyle, and even marked the start of my journey to New Zealand. What better place to test out my new baby than the largest, busiest, and most beautiful train station in Washington DC.

Opened in 1907, the station features architecture consisting of marble, white granite, and gold leaf and it was a perfect testing ground.

Note: Most photos are either un-edited, or edited with a black and white filter only. Let me know what you think of my first shots with my new camera! It will be coming with me on more and more adventures and I love feedback.

  1. Awesome shots Ryan! Love Union Station, it’s been the start and or finish of many of my journeys as well.

That last pic is really cool with just the one light

Awesome Ellen. I keep forgetting you two live not to far from me (normally when in the US). Obviously you can see the arches fascinate me!

  2. Great shots dude!

Will you be going to a photography class or are you oing to try and pick up all the tricks on your own?

Definitely going to some classes. This is an art and as much as I will be practicing on my own, I will be taking a lot of lessons to learn it from some well seasoned photographers.
