Hello Lost Ones, and thanks for checking out my newsletter. In the past, newsletters I have received in my email box are usually just article updates or promos, but I want to do something different. Something better. Something real.
This newsletter, or Postcards from a Lost Boy, is meant to be different than most other newsletters that fill up my mailbox. I want this newsletter to be like a postcard to a good friend, where I share not only my travel stories, but personal stories and interactions, day to day life on the road, funny or embarrassing moments, and all of those other small things that make our connection through this blog more…personal.
Travel has changed my life, and now that I have discovered how to use it as a transformational tool as opposed to a supplemental drug, I want to tale this nomadic life and blogging to the next level.
Yes, I will be including some practical tips, blog updates, and all of that other jazz, but it’ll be much more than that.
Actual postcards. Actual polaroids.
Call me nostalgic, romantic, or old fashioned. Yes, I still write on paper, and sometimes I write with a quill. Yes, I have a pocket watch before hipsters though of it as hipster-ish (damn them).
Each month I will pick a subscriber of this newsletter to send a personal, hand-written postcard from wherever I am. And with that postcard will be a REAL Polaroid photo taken by a nifty Instant Camera I just purchased.
I think personal tales, not travel guides, have a soul. They are tangible. So what better way to share my travel adventures in a more tangible and intimate way than with a real postcard and polaroid photo?
I really hope this is as exciting for me as for you. With the upcoming 2015 travel plans and Rickshaw Run, it should be an exciting year.
This newsletter isn’t any ole’ newsletter dudes and duddettes, it’s a postcard to you all, my friends.
